The woman behind Fearless Forward

Katrina Pescador is a writer, historian, museum leader, mother, and advocate whose work has long centered on the stories people preserve—and the ones they struggle to tell.

Her own story includes becoming a mother at fifteen, growing up in a military family, spending years as a military spouse, advocating for her daughter, navigating relationships that demanded too much silence, and building a life through persistence rather than certainty.

For more than thirty years, Katrina has worked in museums and nonprofit organizations, helping preserve history and make overlooked experiences visible. Yet some of the stories she carried most carefully were her own.

Fearless Forward grew from the decision to stop writing around those experiences and begin speaking through them. Through memoir, personal essays, and reflection, Katrina writes honestly about survival, identity, motherhood, boundaries, resilience, and the continuing work of reclaiming a voice.

This is not a story of becoming fearless. It is a story of learning that fear does not get to make every decision.
